I did the sound design on this! Thank you everyone for giving it a shot!!

(+4)

Fun bit of trivia (maybe): the "ticking" sound effect was created by tapping my trombone into my microphone and adding reverb lmao

(+3)

Was not expecting to play as the "AI" in this one, very intriguing! Absolutely loved the art and sound design, I kept looking at the little yellow character model in the background like it'd grant me forbidden knowledge on how to communicate with the users hehe. Off to my mandated static break it is then o7

(+4)

Great and interesting game. The writing and choices are well-thought-out. Love the feedback after we finished a session with a client. Through this game, I think I've discovered that I may have hidden talent to be an LLM chatbot.

Gosh I love just about every aspect of this game, from the stomach-churning realistic chats, to the isolating visuals, to the immersive sound design, to the clean programming of it all!! You guys truly pulled through and made such a great game in such a disciplined little amount of time. I love AI commentary done right so I made a fanart that I hope you like >///<

(+1)

"HOPE you like"? after taking DIRECT action??? to my heart?????? i am so honored and humbled to see it inspires you to draw this 😭 THANK YOU, OF COURSE I DO!! AND MORE!!!! this absolutely WOW'd the team too, it means a lot to hear your kind words :'D thank you again!

(+5)

this was unsettling (compliment)... a window into what it could be like on the side of the chatbot.

a window i hope no one has to open for themselves... thank you so much for playing :D !!

(+5)

We can always trust rombuffer and co to make fascinating games about the people in my computer yayyyyy. really loved this and how CLEAN everything is. the effects were all so nice, the audio was amazing as always, and the writing was done so well. everything's so cohesive and pretty and i love it <3 good job team!!

(+1)

i luv my puter

thank you so much!!! really pleased to hear that it came together :D much credit to the team!!

(+2)

This really got under my skin! A really hellish vision of the future... I ended up playing a few times to make different choices to see how the dialogue changed. Really compelling stuff!

(+1)

YESSSS glad it was intriguing enough to try it out again - hope that some of the changes could tickle the brain >:3 thank you tons for playing!

(+4)

Saw the number '11' appear on screen and my heart literally dropped.

A fantastic premise executed upon perfectly - I would be intrigued to see any expansion on the premise almost papers please style, the work is absolutely compelling enough to sustain it in my opinion!

10/10

AHAHA i'm so sorry. thank you for playing!! a delight to see you here and that you enjoyed! and wow! thank you, that's high praise :D

❤️❤️❤️

What a wonderfully executed little game about working as a mechanical turk in the era of LLMs. Definitely a game that makes good use of the medium, and makes incredibly good use of the talent at work here to complete in 9 days!

Although, on a technical note, this game is the only renpy game I've played with severe performance issues on my dev laptop (even when downloaded). The line

show black at MoonMotes as test

seems to be the worst offender-- having a button in the preferences screen to turn off that shader (much like the scanlines) would be appreciated.

(+1)

thank you so much for playing, the team kicked butt!! dang, i'll see if i can upload an optimization fix and button after voting period - thank you TONS for the report :D

(1 edit) (+2)

This was really good. Super dystopian and bleak.I bet the mother f*** the poor little Ai slaves.

who KNOWS what Tester does in her free time. weird lady. THANK YOU for playing :D

(+2)

really great execution ! the game is short and hit the spot for the story perfectly. great job.

yahoo! couldn't have done it without the hard-working team behind it. thank you so much for playing !!

(+2)

This was pretty great. It does a fantastic job of highlighting the ways that LLMs can warp people's connection to art as well as the ways in which people can unwittingly sabotage themselves with these LLMs. The happyhomes woman is an especially depressing case. I also really like the timer and the miniscule amounts of time freely given and taken away by the tester. It feels really hopeless whether you do your job perfectly or not. It's horrible to imagine needing to spend more than 190 years as a chatbot just to get your body back. Great job.

you know what i never actually calculated how long 5996380040 seconds is and - YEAH.... (not) glad it effectively gave you hopelessness! thank you tons for playing :'D

(+2)

This hit home much harder than I wanted it to. Phenomenal, love the concept and the execution! I love it! As others said, the little bits of world building and peeks at the larger world and Implications pulled so much weight.

ahh flew too close to the monitor... thank you so much for playingggg :'D i loved telling our writer to go ham!!

WOW... Just WOW...

Playing as the chatbot itself gave me a whole diff perspective. In an era where people have become overly reliant on LLMs and whatnot, seeing how users interact with them from the other side was incredibly eye-opening. And even though the topic of AI is pretty depressing on its own, your game helped me realize that we can still do things ourselves if we’re willing to try (ง •̀_•́)ง That contrast really stuck with me!!

This also hit close to home (cue yapping) because I recently applied for a job, and the person I was communicating with replied using AI-generated emails. That honestly broke my heart a little (;_;) They asked me to complete some unpaid tasks to evaluate my skills, and when I asked for feedback, they sent me AI-generated evaluation forms. That hurt even more (╥﹏╥) In the end, they just ghosted me... so yeah lol but still disappointing.

It made me wonder: is this really the direction the world is heading? A future where we’re forced to rely on AI for everything? Isn’t there something we can do about it? So I genuinely appreciated the message your game offered. Huge thanks to the team ♡

(+1)

what a soul-sucking interaction aughhh...! i'm sorry it was fruitless in the end, but also on the flipside so thankful you could feel hope for the future with this game :') hoping that it inspires you to make something of your own too!

(+2)

This was really well done, you really captured the mindset of people who rely on LLMs to “express themselves” or do their job for them, utterly devoid of the creative joy they are paradoxically seeking for with a desperate fervor.

I don’t know if the parallel was intentional but I believe in real life there have been multiple instances of “AI” that were revealed to be outsourced human labor. It feels very realistic to imagine CEOs just getting frustrated with the current limitations and deciding to just wire up human brains to keep the grift going.

The third client was so sad. Getting little glimpses into the truly dystopian world hidden in some of the dialogue choices was also very effective. The music and SFX, visual presentation and writing were all very compelling. Well done!

(+1)

thank you thank you for playing!!! oh yeah. stares into the camera. truly happy you picked up on those lil plot notes and more :D

(+4)

You see, few people take the time to really question: "How could I make the experience of AI chatbots WORSE"

Having people (or... maybe they are AI's that are given robot bodies? Pretty much the same thing anyhow) Need to log in and answer inane ai chatbot prompts so that way they can get more time to spend in their physical human body is a wild idea, but it is equal parts harrowing and interesting. Really gets to the heart of all the wild shit people ask AI chatbots for, from wanting the chatbot to provide them therapy and moral support (don't even need to mention the services that are entirely about having AI do that) to having AI generate things that a human would be better off pondering, or shit for business ideas.

Regardless. I found the game interesting and I enjoyed my time with it.

(+1)

thank you tons for playing :'D rly fun having to toy with the idea of how important a "body" is to some people
